Reverse Daispora (phr). When the Daispora retruns to the homeland, only to discover that they are "foreigners" in the land they left.
I have now spent just a little less than half my life in the US of A. I am in the process of moving back to India - over the last one year I have spent ten months in India. I miss beautiful Milwaukee, but what is happening today in India is so exciting, I wouldn't want to miss it at any cost. :-) So now I am "stranger in the land of my birth" - hence the title of this blog...
Why this blog? I want to write about what I see in India - a very different place from where I grew up. And I have seen all of India (except Assam and some of those smaller states - they used to be called union territories). But my perspective is now American - its where I "grew up" in a different sense.
Of course the natural tendency is going to be - why cant "X" be like it is in America, it works great there? But that would be narrow-minded - India is different and always will be. How boring if Pune looked like Milwaukee and everyone acted like Milwaukeeans.
If America is a Melting Pot, then India is a Boiling Cauldron. Everything is changing - and fast. In India…
The entropy is amazing!
The growth is stupendous!
